Staying Focused

As a quote on quote “content creator”, we tend to rely on the imagination as a stream to cultivate our amazing bodies of work; so when that canal is blocked by doubt and uncertainty, we adapt something called “writer’s block”, in this case, “creator’s block”.

We all have done it: found any and every excuse to do something else when we know we have a project or assignment due.

Then, comes the montage of telling ourselves every hour that we’re going to begin, when we know good and well that after five minutes past the hour, we have another excuse ready.

“The greatest amount of wasted time, is time not getting started.”

In whatever business field or mission you are associated with, it is very important to stay focused.

Cliche right?

I know.

As much as you are constantly reminded to stay focused, that doesn’t take away from the fact that it is true. however, It doesn’t mean that it is easy to stay on topic.

Time and time again distractions get the better of us, causing the abandonment of deadlines, obligations, and promises. We can’t let unnecessary bad habits deter us from achieving our goals.

FOCUS:

the center of activity, attraction, and attention.

you can’t focus without some form of discipline, but when you’re disciplined you can achieve focus.

DISCIPLINE:

to train or develop by instruction and exercise especially in self-control.

AS I AM WRITING THIS, I TOOK ABOUT 11 BREAKS PRIOR.

The goal is to eliminate bad habits to achieve some form of self accountability. Now, the pressure is on you to keep true to your word: less you’re liable for the consequences of an incomplete task.
that’s the foundation: what you choose to do to discipline yourself is entirely up to you.

Those CIRCUMSTANCES are usually things you have no control over.

your focus can be distorted by uncontrollable circumstances that shifts your attention temporarily. you can have discipline, but It doesn’t mean you are 100% focused. Establishing your principles and values will enable a sort of blueprint, you yourself can refer to habitually.

Discipline is truly the key to staying focused, even if you stray away for a moment. I repeat “Even if you stray away for a moment”, you won’t be distracted for too long. No matter what the circumstances, you will always find your way back on track.
